Senior Quantity Surveyor – Established Developer

Our client is a leading residential developer with an established presence in Ireland for nearly 40 years. They are self-funded and currently carry significant land assets.

They have been responsible for a number of iconic residential development. They also have a track record in the development of high quality starter homes.

The vast majority of the key management have been with the company for in excess of 15 years and this is testimony to the loyalty of the company to their staff and also reflects how the company develops and promotes from within.

Having met with and discussed the requirement in some depth with one of the company shareholders I am confident of the company’s commitment to the development of their staff and their understanding of the need for a sustainable work life balance.

The Directors operate an open door policy and are there to guide and mentor staff as well as lead them.

As they are currently in the process of rolling out the development of a number of new development sites they now wish to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work alongside another Senior Surveyors with the support of Assistant level Surveyors.

The role is Dublin based and will have a 50/50 mix of site and head office based work. The current sites due for development range from an 18 unit high end development to developments consisting of over 100 units of starter homes.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will undertake the following duties:

Manage and allocate the work load of junior QS staff.

Preparation of cash flow forecasts and managing project performance against agreed budgets.

Procurement and Administration of Subcontract packages.

Attending site meeting and agreeing interim and final accounts.

Supervision of onsite remeasurement of certain packages such as ground works and blockwork.

Agreeing variations in conjunction with the site management team.

Value Engineering and examination of more advantageous procurement and construction methods

Management of subcontractor and associated documentation for compliance with current BCAR regulations.

Other adhoc duties in line with those of a quantity surveyor.


Candidate Profile:

Ideally at least 8 years quantity surveying experience.


A good communicator, verbal and written.

An aptitude for construction.

Ideally have some experience in the residential building sector.
